Surface preparation is where the result is decided. We fill cracks with flexible acrylic filler, sand back any flaking paint, and prime bare surfaces before applying finish coats. Algarve's climate — intense UV from April to October, combined with salt air near the coast — degrades exterior paint faster than northern Europe. We use weather-resistant exterior paints formulated for this climate and rated for direct sun exposure. Interior walls typically get two finish coats; exterior surfaces get a primer plus two coats minimum. Floors, furniture and fittings are protected with dust sheets and masking tape throughout, and all materials are removed once the work is complete.
